|
This service provides an online travel journaling service to customers who come directly to and to our online partner sites including Lonely Planet, Contiki Holidays and the Good Sam RV Club.
We're looking for a developer to help in developing the platform. This involves working with an existing application written using WebObjects 5.3 (Java), Frontbase, and OS X as a server platform and on new mobile applications including iPhone integration.
Duties include architecting, writing, refactoring code in the application, assisting in daily support, and helping with related tasks - such as infrastructure. A good opportunity to learn a variety of software development skills and usage of tools. We work in a very agile environment with no red-tape; so we're looking for a dynamic person. You would report to our experienced WO Developer based in India.
Preference will be given to candidates from less expensive locations, but we do consider developers from any part of the world who are able to work on either a hourly rate, or a contract / project basis.
Required: WebObjects 5.3, Eclipse 3.x & WOLips Mac OS X & Linux experience, SVN. Good communication, analytical & reasoning skills would be an added advantage.
Able to identify and optimise bottlenecks (DB and memory). Documentation (Javadoc and architectural) HTML, CSS. Must be pro-active and fairly self-sufficient.
Helpful:
* Exposure to Patterns and 3-tier architectures
* Implementation of unit tests, automated testing
* Familiarity with third-party JARs and integration with WO
* UNIX shell experience
* SQL experience
* Javascript & AJAX
* XML & XSLT* SCM like: SVN
